Nick Gesue serves as vice president of Lancaster Pollard & Co. and senior vice president and director of housing for Lancaster Pollard Mortgage Company. The two firms provide capital funding to the senior living, health care and affordable housing sectors. As the mortgage company’s head of operations, Mr. Gesue is the chief underwriter for FHA, USDA and Fannie Mae programs and provides credit oversight to all other mortgage company lending activities. In this capacity, he has successfully underwritten over 300 transactions totaling over $1.5 billion in loan amount. In addition, he oversees the firm’s team of analysts as well as its underwriting process and the development of new lending programs. His development of a highly effi cient underwriting process helped make the company a leading FHA/HUD MAP and LEAN lender. As a licensed broker/dealer, Mr. Gesue is also involved in structuring taxexempt bond transactions for nonprofit as well as low-income projects. In addition, he has considerable expertise with the preservation of affordable housing. His thorough understanding of the senior living and multifamily housing industries has earned him speaking engagements at state, regional and national-level organizations. It has also made him a regular source of information for numerous national publications. Mr. Gesue received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Denison University. He is an active committee member with the Mortgage Bankers Association. In 2008, “Affordable Housing Finance” magazine named Mr. Gesue one of the Young Leaders in Affordable Housing. He also earned his LEED Green Associate accreditation from the US Green Building Council. In addition, he serves on the Fannie Mae Affordable Housing Advisory Council. 

Blair Minton. Founder and President of Blair Minton & Associates, Inc., Mr. Minton has 30 years of experience in all phases of the health care industry, including 25 years of experience in the administration, planning and development of services for older adults and hospitals. Blair Minton & Associates has provided consulting services to the health care and senior living industries since 1989. Under his leadership, BMA has been instrumental in the development and operation of numerous assisted living, independent living and supportive living facilities in the Midwest. BMA also manages more than 180,000 square feet of medical office space for a local hospital system. Prior to founding Blair Minton & Associates, Blair served as Vice President of Riverside Medical Center, a 350-bed hospital in Kankakee, Illinois, and Vice President of Christopher Rural Health Corporation, a non-profit corporation that develops and manages clinical facilities in rural Illinois. He also served as Vice President of a national retirement housing and nursing home management consulting company. In 2010, Blair was elected to the Board of Directors of the Assisted Living Federation of America, the largest national organization exclusively dedicated to professional operated assisted living communities. The March/April 2010 edition of the Assisted Living Executive, the official magazine of ALFA, cited Blair as one of the Trendsetters in Senior Living.

Rod Burkett, President, BMA Management, Ltd. Rod Burkett has been at the helm of BMA Management, Ltd. since May 1999, serving as the company’s first and only operational leader. As President of the management company, Rod has overseen the opening of more than 35 new senior living communities, including the first affordable assisted living community to be developed by BMA. These communities have touched the lives of thousands of older adults and their families. 
Through his leadership, BMA has grown to be one of the 25 largest providers of assisted living in the nation and the largest provider of affordable assisted living in the State of Illinois. 
Prior to his arrival at BMA, Rod enjoyed a 20-year career in the healthcare management fields of public health, home health, medical clinics, hospitals and nursing homes. During this pre-BMA experience, Mr. Burkett served as Chief Executive Officer of two hospitals and held the position of Regional Director for a large nursing home ownership chain. Rod currently serves as President of the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition, which is based in Springfield, Illinois, and serves on the Supportive Living Facility Cabinet for Life Services Network, the largest elder care association in Illinois.  He also is a member of the Assisted Living Federation of America’s COO Roundtable and a member of “Vistage”, an international executive development group. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from Eastern Illinois University and performed his graduate level studies at St. Louis University and Eastern Illinois University, culminating in an MBA in 1993.

Jerome Finis, CEO, Pathway Senior Living LLC. As CEO of Pathway Senior Living, Jerry has over 25 years’ experience as a developer, owner and manager of multi-family and seniors’ housing throughout the Midwest. His knowledge and insight in finance has enabled Pathway to successfully execute difficult development and acquisition deals that are otherwise passed over by other operators. As a result of his efforts, Pathway is one of the only developers in the nation using tax credits to build affordable assisted living targeting mixed-income residents. Jerry is a board member of the American Seniors Housing Association, a board member of the Affordable Assisted Living Coalition, sits on the Legislative Roundtable for the Assisted Living Federation of America. He is Treasurer and Past President of the Real Estate Investment Association and is a member of its National Executive Committee. He is a member of the Affordable Assisted Living Finance Work Group sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and also served as Chairman of the Village of Inverness’s Zoning Board of Appeals. Jerry earned an MBA from Northwestern University, majoring in both real estate and finance.

Aaron D’Costa, Chief Business Development Officer, Pathway Senior Living LLC. As Chief Business Development Officer for Pathway Senior Living and with over 20 years of experience in seniors’ housing, Aaron is currently responsible for identification of key development, acquisition and management opportunities, the formulation and implementation of a corporate strategic growth plan, and oversight of the company’s brand strategy. Prior to joining Pathway, Aaron operated his own marketing and management consulting firm for six years with clients throughout the country benefiting from his experiences. Aaron had previously held community- and corporate-based positions with national providers such as Marriott Senior Living Services, Sunrise Senior Living, Classic Residence by Hyatt and Fountains Retirement Communities. A Certified Marketing Professional, Aaron is also chair of the Marketing Roundtable for the Assisted Living Federation of America and serves as judge for the annual Mature Media Awards given by the Mature Market Resource Center. He sits on the boards of Lincoln Healthcare Events’ Senior Care 100 and the National Investment Center’s NICMAP. Aaron is often a featured speaker at industry conferences and events on topics ranging from marketing and operations to development and strategic management. Aaron completed his MBA from The George Washington University and holds dual undergraduate degrees in management and communications from Virginia Wesleyan College.
