Oregon Health & Science University

The state's sole institution providing doctoral degrees in medicine, dentistry, and nursing, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) also has schools in science and engineering and, in partnership with Oregon State University, pharmacy. OHSU is home to two hospitals as well as specialty and primary care clinics, research and interdisciplinary centers, and community service programs. OHSU traces its roots to 1867 when members of the medical department at Willamette University began the first formal medical education program in Oregon.
