Irving Levin Associates is the leading publisher of merger and acquisition data on the seniors housing and health care industry. For over 60 years, Levin Associates has been providing Wall Street investors, senior care providers and health care executives with timely, accurate and reliable market intelligence on mergers and acquisitions, mortgage financing, private placements, IPOs and secondary offerings, as well as seminal information on growth strategies and best practices for the industry. The firm publishes three monthly newsletters: The SeniorCare Investor, The Health Care M&A Monthly and Senior Living Business. In addition, the firm issues a quarterly report and two annual reports on the health care and senior care acquisition markets. We also maintain an online database, Deal Search Online, of health care mergers and acquisitions for the past decade.

About the Team…

Stephen M.  Monroe is the managing editor and a partner at Irving Levin Associates, Inc. He is a a respected and often quoted industry leader. Established in 1948, Irving Levin Associates is a research and publishing firm that specializes in the seniors housing and health care investment markets, with several newsletters and acquisition reports.

Mr. Monroe has been with the company for 20 years and has published more than 50 articles dealing with various aspects of investing in the health care and seniors housing arena. He is the editor of The SeniorCare Investor, the leading industry newsletter, and The Senior Care Acquisition Report, an often quoted annual study of acquisition trends in the senior care market. In addition, he is the executive editor of Senior Living Business. These publications have won numerous industry awards.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Monroe was a vice president of investment banking at Kidder, Peabody & Co. in New York City where he completed a variety of public equity, bond and merger and acquisition transactions. He received his MBA in Finance from Columbia University and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Vermont.

Eleanor B. Meredith is a partner and publisher at the Firm. As publisher, she oversees the strategic direction of the Firm and many aspects of the marketing of publications and online databases.  Prior to 1998, she was in charge of the valuation and consulting practice that provided financial advisory services to many of the nation’s largest health care systems. Prior to joining Levin in 1986, Ms. Meredith served as vice president in the Health Care Group of PaineWebber, and has also been associated with Dillon, Read and Co. and The Chase Manhattan Bank. In addition to being a licensed principal of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), she is a member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI).  She also holds real estate and appraisal licenses in several states. A graduate of Georgetown University, Ms. Meredith holds an MBA in finance from Columbia University.

Sanford B. Steever, Ph.D., is editor of The Health Care M&A Monthly and The Health Care M&A Report, and manages the Firm’s extensive database of information on mergers and acquisitions in the health care industry. An experienced writer, editor and researcher, Dr. Steever has held a wide range of editorial and managerial roles for the University of Chicago, the University of Pennsylvania, and Price Waterhouse. A graduate of Cornell University with a degree in linguistics, he holds a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Chicago.

Karen Pujol is Director of Subscription Services for the Firm.
 
Chris Liberante is the webmaster of the corporate web site. Ms. Liberante has been with the Firm for 20 years and has experience in many facets of the company. Prior to 1998, she focused on the valuation and consulting practice, and was also instrumental in the upstart of the Firm's extensive mergers and acquisitions database. She attended Fordham University as well as The University of Connecticut while majoring in economics.
