In 2012, values remained relatively high across the seniors housing and care spectrum: skilled nursing facilities, assisted and independent living communities, and memory care facilities. Obviously, record-low interest rates have helped valuations and acquisitions, but the turnaround in the economy and housing market have helped to improve the operating metrics and cash flow as well. The last bull market lasted about 30 months and ended in early 2008 with the meltdown in the economy. Are things really different this time?
