Effective January 3, 2013, the Affordable Care Act requires doctors, hospitals and other health care providers — including long-term care facilities — to coordinate care provided to Medicare patients through Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). In return, incentives reward ACOs based on lowering the cost of providing health care services and meeting benchmark levels for quality care. Our panel of experts includes: Jim Moore (Moderator), President, Moore Diversified Services; Daniel Gray, President, Continuum Development Services; Kimber Latsha, Managing Partner, Latsha Davis & McKenna; Rebecca Neth Townsend, Senior Vice President, Ziegler; and William Pomeranz, Managing Director, Cain Brothers.
