ryanSenior Vice President – Healthcare Group, Houlihan Lokey

Mr. Ryan is a Senior Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Healthcare Group and Head of the Long Term Care practice at Houlihan Lokey’s Chicago office. He has advised on a wide range of sellside and buyside M&A transactions, fairness and solvency opinions, debt and equity financings and restructurings. He has been involved in numerous healthcare transactions involving facility-based providers including skilled nursing, memory care, assisted living, CCRC and independent living communities, and ancillary providers including institutional pharmacy, institutional therapy, home care and hospice.

His notable recent long-term care transactions include Avamere Group, Erickson Retirement Communities, Harden Healthcare, Life Generations Healthcare, Linden Ponds, Springpoint Senior Living and Wellington Healthcare Services. Mr. Ryan is currently involved in several CCRC restructurings including The Clare at Water Tower and St. Mary of the Woods.

Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Ryan was at Casas, Benjamin, where he focused on restructurings, corporate finance, acquisitions and divestitures and before that, he was at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the transaction services group, where he specialized in due diligence assessments on behalf of financial and strategic buyers. Mr. Ryan received his B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University.

Mr. Ryan is active with the National Investment Center (NIC), American Senior Housing Association (ASHA) and LeadingAge. He is also a frequent speaker on various topics including developments in healthcare, M&A, restructurings and leveraged finance.
