Top 5 Health Care Venture Capital Deals (April
17, 2006)
During the period ended April 15,
2006, a total of $349.8 million in venture capital was raised by 18 health
care companies, including Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, which raised $65
million in the largest round so far this month. Pharmaceutical companies
announced the greatest amount of funding in one sector, with four deals
totaling $94 million, but there were more deals announced by
biopharmaceutical companies, with six deals totaling $88 million.
