ObamaCare: What Else?
You may have been wondering why I have not been making any snide comments about all the problems with the ObamaCare rollout. First of all, the problems have been technical and correctable, so to focus on that, as the Republicans mistakenly have done, is a very short-term mindset. The real problems will be occurring when those who are able to finally get through the enrollment nightmare, really find out what their true costs are and that their doctor may no longer see them. Or that those who qualify for Medicaid will see some limited choices as well. Just wait until the second half of 2014 and beyond when all the new ObamaCare sign-ups see what they are really getting. That is what the Republican naysayers should be focusing on, like they finally did on the knowingly false promise that you can keep your insurance plan if you like it (wrong) and your doctor if you like him (wrong again). With the new law, insurance companies can’t turn you away because of a pre-existing condition, which is good policy, but one that comes at a cost that Democrats don’t like to talk about. But what happens when Big Brother starts to tell doctors they can’t turn you away because of your health exchange insurance policy. As my mother would say, put that in your pipe and smoke it.
