The ACA Hits Harvard Professors
All I can say is, be careful what you wish for. Have you heard about the whining Harvard University faculty that is now finding out that, Heaven forbid, they too will be subject to the rising costs of the Affordable Care Act. Many of these Harvard professors were champions of ObamaCare, and at least one of them was an advisor to the President on health policy. But Harvard is now adopting features that most of us already have. Oh my God, they will have a $250 deductible and have to pay $20 for a doctor’s office visit. I wish our policy was that generous, but then it would be too costly for employees. Apparently, the Harvard plan still pays about 91% of the cost of the services, compared with 70% for the average silver plan on the exchanges. I guess it is okay for “health policy” to change as long as these prima donnas don’t have to suffer the consequences. And imagine, these Harvard professors don’t want to be told which health care providers they can see and which ones they can’t. Perhaps they should climb down from their ivory towers and see what the real world sees. The same goes for Congress, which doesn’t have to abide by the rules of ObamaCare. But they don’t abide by many of our rules, do they? Happy New Year.
