Irving Levin Associates Wins Top Honors In Annual Journalism Award
NORWALK, CT – June 20, 2005 – For the second year, the Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Foundation has honored Irving Levin Associates for outstanding journalistic achievement.
Irving Levin Associates, Inc. won three prestigious David Swit Journalism prizes for excellence in journalism in the international contest. The awards were announced last week at the Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Association annual meeting at the Mayflower Hotel in downtown Washington.
“Strong editorial is the key to our business.  It is the reason why customers initially subscribe to our information services and the reason why they remain loyal year after year,” said Eleanor Meredith, publisher.
The firm’s editors include: Stephen M. Monroe, the managing partner in charge of editorial content; Sanford B. Steever, editor of The Health Care M&A Information Service; and Gretchen Swanson, editor of  Healthcare Corporate Finance News. All of these editors assisted in the editing, writing and research of the winning publications.
The company’s awards this year were for best single topic newsletter and best loose-leaf publication.
The Company’s winners in the 2005 competition were:
• The Senior Care Acquisition Report won in the Best Single Topic Newsletter Award category.  The Senior Care Acquisition Report analyzes the private and public market for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, independent living and retirement housing and home health care companies.  
• The Health Care Services Acquisition Record won in the Best Loose-leaf Publication Award category.  The Record tracks and analyzes mergers and acquisitions in the hospital, managed care, behavioral health, physician medical groups, rehabilitation. labs, MRI and dialysis and other health care services.
• The Medical Technology Acquisition Record also won in the Best Loose-leaf Publication Award category.  The Record tracks and analyzes mergers and acquisitions in the biotechnology, e-health, medical devices and pharmaceutical sectors.
