Laca Wong-Hammond is a managing director, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), with OREC Securities, LLC, an affiliate of Lancaster Pollard. The company, a financial services firm based in Columbus, Ohio, specializes in providing capital funding to the health care and senior living sectors. In addition to underwriting tax-exempt and taxable bond offerings, the firm provides organizations a complete range of funding options through its Fannie Mae/ FHA/GNMA/USDA-approved mortgage lender subsidiary. It can also provide bridge-to-agency lending, private equity, balance sheet lending, and other investment banking services.
Wong-Hammond will co-lead business development efforts for the firm’s sell-side and buy-side advisory services to owners and operators of seniors housing and care properties, as well as across the health care and housing continuums.
Wong-Hammond has closed over $10 billion of M&A and capital market transactions throughout her career, including acquisition and divestiture of assets, sale/leaseback, and capital placement of debt and equity across property types. Prior to joining Lancaster Pollard, she was a managing director in the corporate finance M&A practice at Duff & Phelps. She was also the head of healthcare real estate at Raymond James, and worked at Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan and iStar REIT.
Wong-Hammond was selected by Real Estate Forum as a 2016 Top Woman in Retail Real Estate and has served on a variety of industry boards and committees. She graduated from Cornell University and studied at the London School of Economics and Harvard Law School. She is based in New York.
