Marcus Sheffer is an energy/environmental consultant with over 30 years of experience. His company, Energy Opportunities, Inc. (EO) provides technical consulting services on projects relating to energy management, efficiency and conservation; renewable energy systems and the environmental impacts of human enterprises. EO also operates the York County Community Foundation Energy Program providing technical and financial assistance to local nonprofit organizations. Marcus is also a partner in 7group, a multi-disciplinary team of professionals focused on sustainable development. Marcus is a LEED Fellow, LEED AP BD+C and an accredited LEED Project Reviewer. He is also a USGBC LEED Faculty member. Volunteer activities have included leadership positions with the USGBC (LEED Steering Committee, LEED Technical Committee, LEED Market Advisory Committee and past Chair of the Energy & Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group), the Green Building Association of Central PA (Founding Board Chair) and the International Living Future Institute as a Living Building Challenge Ambassador. He co-authored The Integrative Design Guide to Green Building published by John Wiley & Sons. Marcus earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies in 1981 and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration in 1986, both from Shippensburg University.
