Stephen Gelineau is a seasoned healthcare strategic advisor who specializes in healthcare mergers and acquisitions, including hospital affiliation feasibility studies and healthcare system formation. He has strong expertise in strategy development and implementation, leadership structure alignment, hospital-physician integration, service line strategy, and medical staff planning issues. Mr. Gelineau has completed over 300 consulting engagements with leading national healthcare organizations, regional healthcare systems, academic medical centers, community hospitals of all types and sizes, medical group practices, PHOs, TPAs, health plans, not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare companies. Additionally he has facilitated more than 200 strategic planning retreats for clients.
Stephen most recently served as partner and senior vice president with the Cambridge Research Institute (“CRI”), a national healthcare strategic advisory firm. Prior to becoming a healthcare advisor, Mr. Gelineau acquired over 15 years of healthcare management experience with several organizations, including posts on the executive staff of an academic medical center, a health system, and several community hospitals.
Stephen lectures frequently throughout the healthcare field and is a highly rated speaker. For the past five years, he has served as faculty for the American College of Healthcare Executive’s (“ACHE”) seminar, “Hospitals of the Future – Strategy in an Era of Healthcare Reform.” He also frequently presents to state healthcare associations, national and regional executive forums, and leadership groups of various healthcare organizations and associations.
He is an active member in several professional organizations including the Healthcare Executive Forum (founding member), the New England Society for Healthcare Strategy; the Forum for Healthcare Strategists; and the Society for Healthcare Planning & Market Development of the American Hospital Association (20 year member), as well as ACHE and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior and a master’s degree in management from the Lesley University School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
