Mr. Kelly, a Senior Director with CapitalSource’s Healthcare Finance Group, is a 20+ year veteran of the senior housing and long term care industries. Prior to CapitalSource, he was a Principal and Founding Member of Energy Court Capital, a capital advisory and consulting service firm focused on senior housing and long term care companies. Past experience also includes serving as Executive Vice President with Covington Senior Living, Senior Originator with Merrill Lynch Capital’s Healthcare Finance Division and Senior Banker with KeyBank’s Healthcare Finance Division.
As Managing Director, Healthcare Development within the Healthcare Real Estate Group at CapitalSource, Mr. Gilleland is responsible for developing financing opportunities for the long-term care industry, directing origination efforts and the initial structuring of transactions. Mr. Gilleland has 16 years of healthcare real estate experience–specifically in the long-term care and senior housing industry–from a lending and operations perspective.
Prior to joining CapitalSource, Mr. Gilleland was a Vice President of Business Development for Centennial Healthcare where he executed $300 million in long-term care and home healthcare transactions. Prior to his experience at Centennial Healthcare, he served as Director of Marketing for Healthcare Capital Finance/ PRN Mortgage Capital for five years where he originated and closed $225 million in long-term care mortgage financings. From 1987 to 1993, he was a manager and senior accountant with the accounting firms of Price Waterhouse and Bennett/Thrasher.
Managing Director of Healthcare Real Estate at CapitalSource
Mr. Chavez joined CapitalSource (NYSE:CSE) in January of 2006 as Director in the Healthcare Real Estate Group and became the group’s managing director in 2010. While at CapitalSource, Mr. Chavez has closed over $1.5BB in transactions, including financing for the acquisitions Tandem Healthcare and Genesis Healthcare. Prior to joining CapitalSource, Alex was the Senior Vice President and Treasurer, at LTC Properties, Inc. (NYSE:LTC). While at LTC, Mr. Chavez was involved in originating, servicing and financing nearly $1 billion of long-term care assets, in the public debt and equity markets. Prior to joining LTC, Mr. Chavez was employed by Ernst & Young, LLP, from 1990 to 1996, where he specialized in the healthcare and real estate sectors and served in various audit capacities, including Audit Manager. Mr. Chavez holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
