Derek Dunham brings over 20 years in the marketing communications industry and nearly 10 years in senior living. He has led research studies and strategic development as well as tactical plan implementation for dozens of communities and other major brands targeting the mature market. Derek is an adjunct professor at Penn State and has presented at VANHA, LeadingAge WA, LeadingAge OR, LeadingAge PA and on the Ignite stage at the 2013 LeadingAge Annual Meeting & Expo. He earned a BBA in Advertising from the University of North Dakota and an MBA in Marketing from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Partner, Varsity
As client services director, John oversees all marketing efforts on behalf of agency, and has worked with dozens of clients in the mature market ranging from non-profit and for-profit CCRCs to national consumer packaged goods brands. At Varsity, he is directly involved in brand planning for clients, including research development, implementation, evaluation and strategy. John also manages all practice specialist teams which are dedicated to Varsity’s specific industry concentrations, including retirement living, consumer goods & services, healthcare and technology. He was instrumental in the planning and execution of a number of original research projects, including the agency’s latest, Project Looking Glass II.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University, and has completed post-graduate studies in marketing at Wharton School of Business.
