Terry Shade, MBA, CEO Lutheran Home Care & Hospice and LIFE Lutheran Services and VP of Community Health Services for Lutheran Social Services joined the staff of Lutheran Social Services in May 1985. Ms. Shade received a BSBA with a major accounting from Bucknell University in 1980 and her MBA from Shippensburg University in 1984. Ms. Shade has held a variety of positions including Business Manager and Director of Operations with the agency’s home health subsidiary before assuming the role of Executive Director and CEO of Lutheran Home Care & Hospice in July of 2001 and CEO of LIFE Lutheran Services in 2006. She is currently responsible for the operation of the agency’s home health, hospice, non-medical home care and PACE programs. She possesses managerial and financial expertise and was instrumental in the start-up of the agency’s non-medical care program, achieving certification for the hospice program, the design and occupancy of a 13,600 sq. ft. office for the home health division, creating a subsidiary structure to house the home health division of the agency and development of a home telemonitoring program. In addition, Ms. Shade was responsible for taking the agency’s PACE program, LIFE Lutheran Services, from concept to reality including the development of a successful grant proposal to CMS for start-up funding for one of the first such programs in a rural area.
